Growing up in a military family, Dylan learned to adapt to new cultural and architectural languages at an early age. Following graduation from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Architecture, she joined the firm in 2022 after participating in Historical Concepts’ internship program.

Design Services

Q Design Group offers complete landscape/hardscape design services from conceptual landscape/hardscape plans to construction documents and installation. Working as a liaison between your architect, builder and interior designer, we will manage the landscape design process as one cohesive piece of the whole project.

From concept sketches and visualisation to prototyping, A-class surfacing and fully engineered, production-ready products, Design Q is committed to excellence. Inspired by the 1960’s TV show ‘Thunderbirds’ Howard spent his childhood dreaming of designing remarkable things and was heavily influenced by his exposure to art and metalwork. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 2016 with a Bachelors of Architecture and is an Associate AIA member. His primary passion lies in residential and historical preservation/reuse projects. His strong leadership, design and management skills allow him to provide a seamless and effective service to clients with unique projects and challenges.


The architectural services offered at q design group are intended to enhance and integrate interior and exterior spaces seamlessly into your home. We work closely with your architect, builder and interior designer to create a complete design and build process. Conceptual landscape and hardscape designs are created concurrently with the architectural plans and are integrated into your construction documents. This allows us to present and submit your project to building departments, variance, planning or environmental or architectural review boards as a tangible dream not just a set of numbers.

Susan Lindstrom grew up in the residential and commercial construction industry within her family’s general contracting company. This experience gave her a unique perspective on taking a project from the conceptual design stages to “move in”. Dylan Thomson, a 2016 North Carolina State University Bachelors of Architecture graduate is our full-time Intern Architect. He specializes in historical preservation/reuse and residential design. He is a valuable member of the team helping to streamline and simplify the design/build process by working with landscape architects, engineers, sub-contractors, fabricators, builders and homeowners.

Interior Design

Howard’s childhood exposure to art, metalwork and the 1960’s TV show ‘Thunderbirds’ set him on a path of designing remarkable things. He has developed his design skills at some of the world’s leading transport design firms – taking concept designs through to full production engineering and material specifications.

He has extensive experience in business jet interiors – developing class leading cabins, seating and flight decks for Bombardier’s Learjet, Challenger and Global brands. He also has considerable experience with large and small commercial passenger aircraft interiors and is familiar with all major aircraft manufacturers’ product lines.

A graduate of Villa Maria College, Colleen’s ability to translate a client’s lifestyle into their environment is what sets her apart. She is adept at communicating with clients, contractors and other team members to ensure their vision is realized. She is comfortable with working in all scales of projects and is experienced with both new construction and renovations. She has strong knowledge of building codes and standards as well as permitting processes.
